Merry Merry, Happy Happy (And A New Review)

Hi Everybody. Now that the chaos of Christmas has died down a bit, I would like to take this chance to wish all of you a happy holiday season. We hosted the annual get together at our house this year, and aside from a cauliflower-related explosion, things went off without a hitch. The month isn’t quite over yet, but unless there is a flurry of returns, I can safely say that December has been my best month to date for downloads and sales. I’ve already heard from some people who read my book on their brand new eReaders. (You people are quick readers, might I say.) My thanks to all of you who picked up The Book of Deacon and were inspired to visit this site as a result. I trust you enjoyed the story.

Aside from the strong sales, a few days ago I heard from a fellow author named Mel Chesley. Unlike me, she is fortunate enough to have been picked up by an actual factual publisher, so my congratulations to her. She was writing to let me know that she’d picked up the first book of the trilogy and took the time to write a review. You can find it here. I heartily recommend you head over and check it out, and while you’re at it, check out the rest of what she’s got to offer. It is quite a clever and interesting blog, and one that I look forward to reading as part of my regular rotation.

As always, I’ll leave you with an update. Sci Fi book 2 is just about finished. Hopefully I’ll be starting the climax tonight, then it is just a stone’s throw to the ending and a read through to catch as many errors as possible and tie up the loose ends. Let’s all keep our fingers crossed that I can get this thing done and out of the way soon. I’m itching to start a new project.

Thanks for reading!

  1. *** CONTAINS SPOILERS ***
About a week ago I downloaded The Book of Deacon. Today I just finished Jade. All I can say is WOW. With Epidime revealed at the end of Jade… I hope this means you intend to continue that story.

    Starting on your sci fi.

I hope you make enough from your writing to do it full time.

    1. Hi! Thanks for the comment. I’m glad you liked the Deacon books enough to give my attempt at sci fi a try. I do indeed intend to continue the Book of Deacon world with another few books. How soon I can pull that off depends largely on if and when I manage to find the time. If I end up earning enough to write full time, that would certainly speed things up!

  2. I just finished your Book of Deacon trilogy and i loved it! I am not a big fan of fantasy or scifi but i fell in love with this story, i got through all three books in a week i just put them down for work and Christms with the family! Thank you for sharing your creativity! Sincerely, devoted reader 🙂

  3. Just finished the book of deacon on my new kindle fire. I was searching for a free book to read and yours had some decent reviews so I went for it. I’m super glad I did! I really enjoyed the story and finished it quickly because it was difficult to put down. Even though it was a bit rough around the edges (could use a bit more editing) I felt like it was superior to the last several books I have purchased at full price! I’m definately going to purchase the next in line and tell all of my kindle loving friends about your book. I think you will find yourself very popular in the near future and wish you luck!

    1. Hi! Thanks for the comment. I’m really glad that you enjoyed the first book, and I greatly appreciate your decision to pick up the next in the series. I agree that the books could use more editing, and I am constantly attempting to improve my books. Thanks for spreading the word, and I hope that you enjoy the rest of the story.

  4. I love the trilogy. I have read so many books I couldn’t count them. Your story was so exciting I was reading everywhere until the series was devoured. Wonderful. Compelling. Worth much more than I paid and I expect you to be up with the greats quite soon. Well done. Thank you.
