A New Desmeres Story

I suppose it’s rather strange that, back when I was working a day job and pulling my hair out, I would post something here on my blog practically once a week. Now that I’m a full time author, I’m lucky if I remember to do it even once a month. BAH! No matter. I’m here now, you’re here now, and that’s all that matters.

So what news have I got for you? Well, first up is a new story! Experiments and Enchantments is an anthology put together by Moira Katson. It’s got eleven stories by eleven authors, and it spans the width and breadth of science fiction and fantasy. Check out this lineup!

Starship’s Mage by Glynn Stewart
Saira & the Magic Sword by Moira Katson
Twenty-Five Bombs Fell by A.K. Meek
Sworn to Raise by Terah Edun
The Dust Job by Aimee Kuzenski
Rebel Captive by S.K. Emory
The Redemption of Desmeres by Joseph Lallo
Memories Stirred by Colin Mobey
The Wanderer by Vincent Trigili
Voyage of the Orca by David Bruns
Gaslight Carnival by Tracy Cembor

Tucked in the middle there is a short addition to The Book of Deacon Series.¬†The Redemption of Desmeres¬†is a spin-off of sorts, or what I like to call a Sidequest. It follows Desmeres as he finally puts some thought into just exactly what he’s done in his life, and inparticularly what he did as a part of the events of the trilogy. Right now only this first chapter exists, but if folks are interested I’ll probably try to flesh out a 10 or 12 chapter set and release them on a monthly schedule. That’s the dream, anyway, my limited productivity potential might get in the way of that.

But until then, you can find it here!

Let’s see… what else… OH! Right. The autographs…

Myranda Book PlateAt long last, I’m all set up to start handing out these book plates. They’re stickers, 3×4 inches. To get yours, just send a self-addressed stamped envelope to the following address:

Joseph R. Lallo
PO Box 190
Colonia, NJ 07067

Please include a note letting me know who to make out the autograph to, and if there’s any special sort of message you might want. It’d also be handy if you’d send me an email to let me know your letter is on the way, so I can be sure to check the PO Box regularly.

INTERNATIONAL FANS:¬†Since trying to supply postage on an international self-addressed envelope is a giant pain in the butt, you don’t have to include postage on your envelope. Instead, just send a self-addressed envelope and I’ll handle the postage. HOWEVER! If you’d like to send me something cool, or maybe write me a nice letter, that’d be cool.

  1. Mr. Lallo, First off I have to say that I’m a big fan. However I am disappointed that I’m having trouble finding some of your works. I use an android phone and have only been able to find five of your titles in The Book of Deacon trilogy world (6 if I include my pre-order for your newest offering). I purchased your books separately. As I finished one, I promptly bought the next one in line. As such, I have apparently missed out on the additions that you included in the anthology. Sadly I cannot find them available by themselves. Considering that I’ve already purchased the other books, I am reluctant to purchase the anthology but I’m so thirsty for more that I may have to to indulge my newfound addiction. Also, the Amazon link for “The Redemption of Desmeres” is no longer working. Where is it then that I can find all of these latest additions w/o having to purchase the most of the same books that are in the anthology again?

    1. I’m glad you like my stuff! Any of the anthology exclusives have also been newsletter perks. If you’re not already on my newsletter, sign up on the contact page and you’ll get one of them. After that, send me an email (also on the contact page) and I’ll gladly send you files to load up on your device. If you’d prefer, you can also wait for a short story collection, which should be out sometime next year, but that would have you waiting for months, since there’s quite a bit in the pipeline between then and now.

  2. I have read the Deacon Trilogy including The D’Karon Apprentice, Jade, and (one of my favorites) The Rise of The Red Shadow. Needless to say, I am an enchanted fan. The 2 months between the time I finished The Battle of Verril and the Nov. 10 download of The D’Karon Apprentice, I found myself missing the heros of your wonderful stories.
I am very interested, and not quite sure of how to aquire The Redemption of Desmeres. Could you please point me in the right direction? Also, I would like to offer you any editing services you might need. Grammatical and punctuation mistakes are not as rampant as I’ve found in some other authors’ works, but there a few.
I hope that you continue to give us great stories.
    Thank you ?
    Jodi K.

    1. Hi Jodi! I’ll follow this up with an email just in case, but The Redemption of Desmeres (or at least the single chapter that’s been released) is available by request to subscribers of my newsletter. Just send me an email and I’ll provide you a copy of your choosing! As for the editing, sorry you still found errors, but with some of my books having been seen to by as many as three sets of professional eyes, I’m resigned to the fact that I’ve got a particular talent in creating typos that sneak by the finest of editors.
